Referrals

Amani Center Referrals

Amani Center referrals can be made by anyone, but typically referrals come from Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs), Oregon Department of Human Services – Child Protective Services (ODHS-CPS), and other Mandatory Reporters. Caregivers or other concerned adults who would like to make a referral are encouraged to call the ODHS Child Abuse Hotline at 855-503-SAFE (7233) directly so that a referral can be made by ODHS -CPS or LEAs.

Amani Center Staff are Mandatory Reporters, so any reports of child abuse made directly to staff will be called into the ODHS Child Abuse Hotline.

Make a Referral

To make a referral to the Amani Center, you can call staff directly, fax, or email a referral to The Amani Center. Our staff can be reached through the following:

To make a referral, staff will need:

Pertinent information includes the type of abuse that the child has experienced, the date that the abuse occurred, if there is a known perpetrator, and contact information for the child’s family. A completed police report or DHS screening report is necessary to have prior to the assessment, but not necessary to make the referral. Please notify the family that you are making a referral to the Amani Center and to expect a call from us regarding scheduling the assessment, and to inform them of our processes and what to expect when they attend an assessment.

After Your Referral

Once you have made the referral, Amani Center staff will contact the family to schedule and then also contact the referring party so that they can attend the assessment. It is crucial for referring parties to attend the child’s assessment so that you can provide additional information that has been gathered during the course of your investigation and ensure that any questions that the referring party has can be answered during the assessment to avoid duplicative interviews.
